THE ART OF THE CLICK
AMSTERDAM 13 JULY 1979
The urge to create images is in my blood. I was raised in an Amsterdam
Art studio with the smell of paint and possibility in the air. Museums and galleries were a natural habitat; and I would eventually develop an eye for detail. Instead of becoming a curator, I shifted direction and became an executive coach. I had forgotten this basic need in me until one day I was
having an intense conversation with someone about the boring normality of life, and I heard myself say “Get real man, life’s a miracle.” As I drove home I was struck by the absolute beauty of the sky above the highway.
I took a snapshot through the front window of my car. CLICK.
And when I came home I saw the beauty of ‘normal life’ captured in a photograph. For me, taking pictures is a tribute to life’s magic. When you look at these images, I hope it reminds you that life IS a miracle.
